Tasked to seek out terrorists: Army sends troops from Nueva Ecija to Mindanao

The 7th Infantry Division (7ID) of the Philippine Army has deployed its 56th Infantry Battalion (56IB) to Mindanao last February 4 to augment troops tasked to seek out terror groups.

Maj. Gen. Felimon Santos Jr., 7th ID commander said the 56IB recovered 10 camps of the New People’s Army in Aurora and Nueva Ecija. The battalion was also active in assisting the Department of Environment and Natural Resources in activities to stop illegal logging in Sierra Madre mountain ranges. 56IB’s previous base of operations was in Bulacan province.
