A total of 753 cops in Marawi operations are now promoted

A total of seven hundred forty-five members of the elite Philippine National Police – Special Action Force (PNP – SAF) and eight other police officers were granted meritorious promotion by the PNP on February 04, 2018 at the Camp Crame in Quezon City for their courage in thwarting ISIS-inspired Maute Group terrorists in Marawi City and the successful defense of the Binuangan municipal police station in Misamis Oriental which was attacked by suspected New People’s Army (NPA) rebels last year.

PNP chief Director General Ronald dela Rosae said that critics have no right to question the promotion of the 753 officers because what they did was not only to for themselves but for the whole police organization and the country.

“If there is anybody who would question me, my authority to have you promoted meritoriously, I will punch them in the face because they do not know the hard work you did,” said Dela Rosa.

These 745 newly-promoted SAF troopers who helped in the liberation of Marawi City were led by Chief Inspector Marlon Ancheta, who was promoted to a rank of Superintendent along with 14 others.
