An “express lane” is now set up by the Philippine Army for compensation claims of its personnel to serve them better and their families.
“We have added an express lane for the quick processing of benefit claims,” Army chief Lt. Gen. Rolando Joselito Bautista said last March 20 at the 121st founding anniversary of the Philippine Army in Taguig City.
From one year, the length for processing was cut down to two months only was also given to the families of 300 soldiers killed-in-action in the past year.
According to Bautista, the wounded soldiers were given “proper treatment required” for their respective conditions. At the same event, President Rodrigo Duterte highlighted his campaign promise to improve the lives of soldiers and their families.
“I can assure you that the government is doing its best to ensure that our men in uniform are provided with the benefits and armed with equipment to perform their duties effectively,” he said.
