Parañaque cop saves woman from knife-wielding ex-lover

A Parañaque City policeman shot dead a man who tried to kill his estranged girlfriend who refused to reconcile with him.

In a report, Senior Supt. Victor Rosete, the city police chief, PO3 Danilo Bautista received a call about a Chinese couple caught in a quarrel at Puyat Compound, Barangay Tambo. When Bautista arrived at the scene, he saw Liang Linbo holding the wounded and screaming Zhao Xuelilan at knifepoint.

Bautista introduced himself as a policeman, but Liang tried to stab the officer instead of surrendering.

According to the report, Liang went back to Zhao as he missed stabbing the officer and pressed the knife against her neck. Bautista decided to shoot Liang in the shoulder as the latter was about to stab the woman.

Liang was then pronounced dead at San Juan de Dios Hospital, where Zhao was also treated for three stab wounds in the neck and body.

Senior Insp. Jerry Sunga said that Liang recently arrived in the country to fetch Zhao, who was staying in a Parañaque hotel and working at a local call center.

Rosete ordered Bautista to be given an award for the “successful neutralization” of the attacker.
