Maranao Imam recognized for acting as Marawi chief of police during crisis

Chief Supt. Ebra M. Moxsir, Al Haj, a Maranao Muslim imam serving at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Chaplain Service recently received the Medalya ng Pambihirang Paglilingkod for his exemplary service when a took over as a the police chief of Marawi City at the height of the crisis last year.

Chief Supt. Moxsir was among the seven officers awarded on Monday, May 7, by PNP Chief Dir. Gen. Oscar Albayalde for their outstanding and meritorious service.

Aside from Moxsir, also given the Medalya ng Pambihirang Paglilingkod were Chief Supt. Joselito Teodoro Esquievel Jr., Chief Supt. Marlon Ganzon, Chief Supt. Celso Pestaño, Chief Supt. Ericson Velasquez and Chief Supt. Ferdinand Divina.

Moxsir is a graduate of Mindanao State University and has a doctorate in Public Administration.

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Director Camilo Pancratius Cascolan was also given the Medalya ng Katapatan sa Paglilingkod for his service while director of the PNP Directorate for Operations.
