Advocacy Vs. CPP-NPA spurred at peace rally in Zamboanga del Sur

To revitalize advocacies against the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA), the Municipality of Molave, Zamboanga del Sur initiated a Peace Rally Parade in partnership with the Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “MATAPAT” Battalion (53IB) on March 29, 2021.

The activity’s theme: “Diha sa panaghiusa ug Pagtinabangay makab-ot ang tinuod nga Kalinaw ug Kalambuan sa atong Katilingban” (With Unity and Cooperation, Peace and Prosperity can be Achieved in our Society) fostered peace, security, and order anchored on anti-communism, anti-terrorism, and anti-illegal drugs campaigns.

The 53IB was represented by Scout Platoon Leader 2Lt. John Peter Paul Gaquing with Sgt. Ralfh Montiel, and 9 Enlisted Personnel along with 2 Former Rebels to provide security and support for the parade.

The activity was spearheaded by the National Freedom for Peace Movement (NAFPEM) headed by National Founding Chairman Dante Labunog. Among those who attended the parade include United Church of Christ in the Philippines headed by Rev. Fernmone Taripe, Muslim Representative Yusuf Dano, Social Action Justice and Peace Officer Proceso Fernandez, 1CMO Battalion represented by Ret. Col. Nolito Navarro, 1CMOB Operations Officer Cpt. Gilbert Osores, and Molave Municipal Police Station OIC PMaj. Marlon Comia.
